The Rainbow Tavern, also known as the Fabulous Rainbow, was located at at 722 N.E. 45th Street in the University District. The Rainbow first opened at the same location as a beer parlor in 1936 by Frank Salvino (1902-1960). Throughout the 1960s-1980s the club was a hub for the local music scene, and hosted shows by Annie Rose and The Thrillers, The Young Fresh Fellows, Jr. Cadillac, Green River, Robert Cray, and Soundgarden, among many others. The Rainbow closed in November 1986.
This menu from the "Fabulous 'Bow" lists the beer and wine menu, and advertises Rainbow Tavern merchandise available at "Seattle's Liveliest Live Music Club."
