Slamhound Hunters and Red Dress at Dez's 400 poster, Seattle, 1981

Order an Image
The Slamhound Hunters was a blues band in the 1980s that featured Louis X. Erlanger, Kim Field, Mark Dalton, and Leslie Milton. They performed around the Pacific Northwest and in Europe, playing original music and opening for acts like Stevie Ray Vaughan, the Righteous Brothers, and Otis Rush.

Red Dress was formed in 1976 by Gary Minkler and his high school friend Rich Riggins. The two explored jazz, contemporary classical music, and the blossoming punk rock scene. Though Riggins left the band and other musicians came and went over the decades, Gary Minkler and Red Dress continued to perform at least into the early 2010s.

This poster from 1981 advertises a joint show for the Slamhound Hunters and Red Dress, staged at Dez's 400, a favorite club of local musicians, located across the street from the Seattle Center Arena and the Seattle Opera House. The show also featured The Spitting Cobras.
