Anson A. (“Bob”) Littler moved to Seattle in 1920 and in 1931 opened a men’s clothing store at 417 Union Street in downtown Seattle. Despite opening during the Depression, the store was successful, and by the 1950s the company had added a women’s store, a shop at the Olympic Hotel, and accessory departments. In all, there were three Seattle stores plus one in Pebble Beach, California.

In the Littler catalog for the 1951-1952 season, numerous black and white images show the latest in items for the upscale customer. While most of the clothing is for men, women’s casual and evening clothing is included as well as watches and other accessories for men and women. Household accessories include barbecue sets and bar equipment.
