In 1977, Seattle artist Doug Hammond designed several posters for Metro’s Community Involvement office, intended for display inside Seattle and King County buses. The poster pictured here promotes attractions found along the Seattle Waterfront, which could be easily accessed via any Metro bus with a "Seattle Waterfront" route sign. Some of the most popular destinations are depicted on the poster: Seattle Center, Pier 70, Seattle Aquarium, Coleman Dock, Kingdome, Smith Tower, and the Washington Plaza Hotel (later the Westin).
