Ancient Egypt hit Seattle from July to November 1978 during the run of the “Treasures of Tutankhamun” exhibit at Seattle Center. The Seattle Art Museum had arranged for “Treasures of Tutankhamun” to visit Seattle, and nearly 1.3 million people crowded through the Flag Pavilion during its four-month run.
King County Metro urged people to travel to the exhibit by bus, as in this poster by Doug Hammond. These ads were placed inside buses, on panels mounted over the windows.
