Pilgrim Girls' Club Annual Magazine, 1928
Contact MOHAI to OrderA societal and educational group for young women that flourished from 1921-1935, the Plymouth Girls' Club was once the largest women's organization in Seattle. Hosted by the Plymouth Congregational Church, located since 1911 at Sixth Avenue and University Street, the club held weekly dinners followed by classes in everything from current events and golf to parliamentary law and hooked-rug making.
The annual club magazine pictured here features various articles on topics included in the educational programming, a teachers' roster, and photographs of the club officers and executive committee members. At the time the magazine was published, club membership was at an all-time high of 839 members. Membership in the Plymouth Girls' Club was open to all young women between the ages of 17-35, and annual dues were $3.00.
