The Century 21 Exposition (also known as the Seattle World's Fair) ran from April 21 to October 21, 1962. Nearly 10 million people attended the fair. The exposition's displays and attractions were centered around themes of science and technology, but included showcases for a variety of world cultures. The Computer Division of the Bendix Corporation (a manufacturing and engineering company, which as of 2025 is part of Knorr Bremse) was part of the United States Science Exhibit at the fair.
Bendix debuted their G-15 computer, developed by Harry Huskey, in 1956. Selling for $50,000 and weighing 850 pounds, the computer was considered one of the first "personal" computers, and the company sold about 300 of the popular model. System Development Corporation Bendix sold the Computer Division to Control Data Corporation in 1963, just a few years after the development of a larger and faster G-20 computer. Systems Development Corporation, a non-profit computer software company at the time of the fair, began as part of the RAND Corporation in 1955 and would merge with Burroughs Corporation in 1981. This printout from the Century 21 Exposition was from an unknown demonstration featuring the two companies' products.
