Bumbershoot poster, Seattle, August 22 - September 1, 1975
Order an ImageBegun as "Festival '71" in 1971, Seattle's Bumbershoot has become one of North America's largest urban arts festivals, held annually over Labor Day weekend at the Seattle Center.
This poster from the 1975 festival, designed by local artist Karin Helmich (b. 1943), features a painted rainbow over a photograph of a hellebore plant.
