Bumbershoot poster, Seattle, September 1-4, 1989

Begun as "Festival '71" in 1971, Seattle's Bumbershoot has become one of North America's largest urban arts festivals, held annually over Labor Day weekend at the Seattle Center.

The poster pictured here features artwork by local artist Carl Smool in collaboration with graphic designer Art Chantry, and was commissioned for Bumbershoot though the City of Seattle's 1% for Art Program. The poster was printed by FINE PRINT STUDIOS of Tacoma.
