Bumbershoot poster, Seattle, September 4-7, 1987

Begun as "Festival '71" in 1971, Seattle's Bumbershoot has become one of North America's largest urban arts festivals, held annually over Labor Day weekend at the Seattle Center.

The poster pictured here features artwork by Karen Guzak, a Snohomish-based artist whose work was commissioned for Bumbershoot through the City of Seattle's 1% for Art Program. The poster was designed by Bernard PeBenito.
