Margaret Lenora Denny (1847-1915) was the second child of Arthur and Mary Ann Boren Denny. Known as Lenora or Nora, she was only five when the family arrived at Alki Point after their long trip to the Pacific Northwest.
In 1915, on the way back from Tacoma, Lenora Denny and three other prominent Seattleites (Thomas and Virginia Prosch, and Harriet Foster Beecher), were killed in an automobile accident when the driver of their car swerved to miss two children. It then crashed through a barrier, ending up in the Duwamish River. During her life and through her estate, Lenora supported a variety of Seattle charitable organizations. Seattle's Lenora Street is named in her honor.
