Seattle's Bagdad Theatre operated from 1927-1947 at one of the Ballard neighborhood's most significant buildings, located on the northwest corner of Market Street and 22nd Avenue NW. The building was designed by local architect Frederick J. Peters as the home of the Ballard chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.), an international non-profit organization founded in 1898 in Seattle. The five-story building, clad in cream-colored terra cotta, was designed to be a multi-purpose space, housing the Bagdad Theatre and other commercial tenants, as well as meeting rooms and amenities for the Eagles. The building is still in use as office and retail space, and has been designated a City of Seattle Historic Landmark.

This image of the interior of the Bagdad Theatre highlights the Persian-themed decor, as well as the large Wurlitzer organ in front of the stage. The 3/8 Wurlitzer instrument, over sized and costly at $25,000, was used to provide a soundtrack for the silent movies popular at the time.
