The Crescent Manufacturing Company was founded in Seattle in 1883 by Albert C. Larsen as Larsen Extract Company. In 1886, the company was sold and re-named the Crescent Manufacturing Company. Crescent was most famous for "Mapleine," an imitation maple flavoring, and the other imitation extracts they manufactured, but they also milled and sold a variety of imported spices, coffee, and nuts.

Pictured here is a 1931 re-registration by Crescent Manufacturing Company for its "Crescent and Crescent Design" trademark, written in Chinese. The trademark was used on the company's baking powder products, which were imported from China. Crescent was sold to McCormick and Company in 1989, which consolidated its operations a year later in Kent, just south of Seattle.
