On January 25, 1992, about 400 protesters marched from Seattle's University District to the Capitol Hill neighborhood, demonstrating against Neo-Nazis and unprovoked racial violence. The protest, according to news reports at the time, had no permit and was loosely organized, with isolated acts of violence characterizing the march. Police arrested 14 people for assault or failure to disperse, while demonstrators claimed the police used excessive force.
This poster advertises the march, with photographs of Hitler, and contemporary skinheads, and a drawing of a boot crushing a swastika, with the phrase "Give Nazi skins the boot!" The march began with a rally at 50th and University Way. Various organizations participated, including the Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigade (RCYB), the United Front Against Fascism, Queer Nation, and Peace Heathens.
