The Kingdome construction project broke ground on November 2, 1972, in spite of concerns from residents of the nearby Chinatown - International District (CID) regarding the impact on their neighborhood. From the protests and march at the groundbreaking, and on into the 1970s, the Asian American movement advocated for more affordable housing in the district, for services such as a health clinic and a multi-service center for the elderly, and for more hiring of Asian workers on the stadium project.

In 1974, Concerned Asians for the International District presented six demands to King County Executive John Spellman. When he took no action, a group of young Asian activists and their supporters, called the "Committee for Corrective Action," marched to Spellman's office on February 3, 1975 to demonstrate support for a proposed program to preserve the neighborhood. Several dozen youth occupied Spellman's office and read their demands, though Spellman declined to meet with them.

This flier advertises the march from Hing Hay Park in the CID to the King County Courthouse on February 3rd. The back of the flier recounts the opposition of the community to the construction project, their efforts so far, and the lack of official response to their demands. It also describes its "Corrective Action Program," an 8-point petition of demands.
