A “Support for Desert Storm” rally was held on U.W.’s Red Square several days after large anti-war protests formed in response to the U.S. involvement in the conflict between Iraq and Kuwait. Attended by about 300 people, the event was significantly smaller than the multiple anti-war protests in Seattle which drew thousands of participants. Anti-war activists were also in attendance at this rally, urging the crowd to change their tone from “pro-war” to “supporting the troops.”"
