We will take only...Sew Much! newsletter, February 1975
Contact MOHAI to OrderThe newsletter shown here was produced by The Sew Much, a national organization of garment workers that fought for higher pay and more favorable union contracts. The newsletter calls for a 10% pay raise and a commitment to regular cost-of-living increases, an end to layoffs, a union hiring hall to help unemployed members find a new job in the union, and regulations to prevent forced overtime and to require employers to provide rest and lunch breaks. It also supports low-cost housing in the Chinatown - International District (CID) and protecting the ID from effects of the construction of the Kingdome. A flier for a march on February 3, 1975 to save the ID was folded into the newsletter. The newsletter's full text is in English and Chinese, and the text of the first page is also in Filipino.
