The Coors boycotts began in the 1960s and lasted officially until the late 1980s, though some opposition continued after that time. The boycotts focused on three issues: the company's long opposition to organized labor; allegations of discriminatory hiring practices against Hispanics, African Americans, women, and LGBTQ people; and Joseph Coors' funding of conservative politicians and organizations. The first boycott in 1966 protested against the company's poor treatment of Mexican-American workers. The official union boycott ended in 1987 when the AFL-CIO and Coors came to an agreement after three years of negotiations.

In 1977, almost 1500 brewery workers from the Adolph Coors Co. went on strike, and labor unions funded a massive consumer boycott. This poster, printed in both English and Spanish, from the People's Forces Central Command NWLF (New World Liberation Front) supports the 1977 Coors workers strike and the boycott, and also encourages civil disobedience. The NWLF was a guerilla organization operating out of the Bay Area and Northern California in the late 1970s.
