In the aftermath of the November 1977 elections, campaign signs for candidates for mayor, city council, and other local positions were removed from yards, parking strips, and businesses throughout Seattle. In this photo, 35th District State Rep. Gene Lux, top left, and Lloyd Ragan, committee member for precinct 35-97, picked up signs along Rainier Avenue South and trucked them away. The sticks on the signs will be recycled for use in a later campaign, but the signs themselves will be burned. The signs cost somewhere between 40 cents and 1.50 each at the time.
