Anti-contra demonstrators holding signs, Seattle, March 3, 1986

Order an Image
In this image, protesters in downtown Seattle hold up crosses bearing the names of people they claim were killed by the contra rebels in Nicaragua. The protesters rallied on the steps of the Federal Courthouse to listen to attorney Jim Douglas, chair of the Central American Task Force of the Seattle Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, which represented Central American refugees and asylum activists fleeing U.S. sponsored terror in Nicaragua and El Salvador.
