Demonstrators marching at Hing Hay Park, Seattle, May 1, 1982

On May 1, 1982, people who had been refugees from Vietnam marched in Hing Hay Park in Seattle's Chinatown - International District to protest Soviet involvement in Vietnam and El Salvador. The marchers carried signs and banners, and many also carried South Vietnamese flags. Here, holding a flag, 11-year-old Hien Le rests on a bench while the protestors march around the block.
