Order an Image
First conceived of in 1974 by professor Harvey G. Phillips (1929-2010) to honor his tuba teacher William Bell, who was born on Christmas Day 1902, TubaChristmas events continue to be sponsored worldwide by the International Tuba Euphonium Association (previously the Tubists Universal Brotherhood Association or T.U.B.A.), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the tuba and euphonium instruments.

This image was taken during the Tuba Family Christmas Ensemble concert conducted by Peter Hallock at Saint Mark's Cathedral in Seattle. Approximately 100 musicians participated, playing for a packed house, who also enjoyed a carol sing-along.
