Helen Elizabeth (Stewart) Taverniti Morse (1921-2005) was a musician, composer, and music teacher in Seattle. Born in Iowa, Taverniti attended Seattle Public Schools and University of Washington, and studied piano beginning at age 4. She wrote two musicals for the Seattle Civic Repertory Playhouse, and had a career as a performer for over 50 years. Taverniti was well-known as a teacher of youth and other teachers, earning the title of "Master Teacher" for 25 years of teaching other teachers at a Master class level. In 1971, she was one of a group of local music teachers who founded the annual Seattle Young Artists Music Festival, which continues as of 2025.
