At the end of a disappointing 2002 season, the Seattle Seahawks announced organizational and coaching staff changes, including the firing of the defensive coaches and removing the function of general manager from head coach Mike Holmgren's responsibilities. Two years later the team won the NFC Championship, and Holmgren remained the head coach until his retirement in 2008.

In this image, Michael George "Mike" Holmgren (b. 1948) discusses the staffing changes at a press conference at the team's headquarters in Kirkland, Washington.
