Sara Pickering played for the UW women's softball team for all four years of her time at the university, from 1994 to 1997. She played second base and is one of the most successful athletes in UW's history. She was the team captain for three years, was the team MVP twice, and had a career batting average of .379. Pickering was a first-team All-American in 1996 and 1997, and she led the team to the Women's College World Series in the same years. Pickering had 319 hits and 216 RBIs in her career (including an NCAA record of 91 doubles).
