John H. Jessen founded Electronic Evidence Discovery, Inc. in 1988 after a lawyer friend asked his advice about searching for evidence stored on personal computers (PCs). Jessen realized that electronic information stored on company computers could also be important to corporate legal work, and used his knowledge of both business and computers to launch his new company. In 2008, Electronic Evidence Discovery, Inc. merged with Daticon LLC to form EED Daticon, which continues to provide electronic discovery services to corporations and law firms as of 2023.
