PAWS Walk, Seattle, October 10, 1993

The PAWS Walk, organized by the Progressive Animal Welfare Society, is an annual fundraiser held in Seattle to benefits the animal welfare organization. In 1993, over 1,600 dog owners and friends participated in the walk, which began in Woodland Park and featured 1- and 5-mile walks. Here, some of the participants head out of the park at the start of the walk. Organizer Jannette Patterson commented that, “As far as we know, this is the biggest gathering of dogs in the city’s history.”
