In 1918, a group of dairy farmers in Washington formed the United Dairymen’s Association to cooperate in processing and selling their products. In 1925, the Association created the brand name Darigold, by which it is best known. Darigold is a cooperative, owned by its members. As of 2023, Darigold members consist of about 430 dairy farms across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana and collectively produce about 10 billion pounds of milk per year.
