Order an ImageIn May 1993, Nintendo of America and Major League Baseball held a press conference at the Kingdome to announce an agreement between 23-year-old Mariners center fielder Ken Griffey, Jr. and Nintendo to produce the Redmond corporation's first attempt at a game named after a live character. Billed as the most realistic baseball video game ever, the game featured real Major League ballparks and fictional players. “Ken Griffey Jr. Presents: Major League Baseball” was released in 1994 and was a major commercial success. Nintendo later published three more games featuring Ken Griffey Jr.
