Seattle’s covered Kingdome stadium opened March 27, 1976, with a grand celebration featuring some 7,000 participants. Twenty-one of the region’s ethnic organizations participated in the event, including the Seattle Chinese Girls’ Drill Team, and the Seattle Chinese Community Dragon.

In this image, costumed members of the Girls’ Drill Team stand in lines as they watch the Community Dragon dancers rehearse. A German group stands in the lower right of the photo.
