Howard Mercer, a Los Angeles disk jockey, visited Seattle to promote his Watergate Scandal card game. He and Chicago friend Joe Sugarman had decided that the Watergate news had reached the point that the country needed a good laugh. The game featured cards representing major positions in the Watergate story, and the object was to convince your playing partners that you were lying when you were actually telling the truth. Or that you were telling the truth when you were actually lying.
