In this image George E. Moyer, superintendent of Seattle Transit System (later Metro Transit), left, and inspector R. A. Cole board the first of the 10-cent downtown shuttle buses known as the "Dime Shuttle." The shuttle loop ran north on Second from Yesler Street to Pine Street, and east on Pine Street to Seventh Avenue, returning south on Second. The Dime Shuttle was replaced by the Metro Ride Free Area in 1973, which was itself eliminated in 2011.
