Woodrow (Woody) and Rosemary (Rosie) Jackson opened their Catfish Corner restaurant at 2726 E. Cherry St and Martin Luther King, Jr. Way in 1985, specializing in “Southern, farm-raised catfish.” The Jacksons sold the business to new owners in 2009, but the popular restaurant closed due to financial difficulties in 2014. In 2021, Woody and Rosie’s grandson Terrell Jackson opened “Jackson’s Catfish Corner” at 2218 S. Jackson Street at the corner of 23rd Ave S., keeping his grandparents’ legacy alive. The restaurant opened on Saturday, June 19th, 2021, with a ribbon cutting celebration and long lines of customers.

This 1997 Catfish Corner Restaurant menu lists the many catfish dishes on offer, as well as the restaurant’s popular hush puppies and Rosie Jackson’s special homemade tartar sauce.
