Owners sipping drinks at F.X. McRory's, Seattle, August 27,1978
Order an ImageF.X. McRory's Steak Chop and Oyster House, one of Seattle's most popular bars and a hub for sports fans, was opened in 1977 next to the Kingdome by restaurateurs Mick McHugh and Tim Firnstahl. Famous for its Irish pub feel, 45-foot-long marble bar, and massive selection of spirits, F.X. McRory's was only the second bar on the west coast with permission to serve Guinness on tap.

The restaurant closed in June 2017, after the new owners of the restaurant's building at 419 Occidental Ave South decided to seismically retrofit the 111-year-old building's basement.
