The Pike Place Fish Market is an open-air shop located in Seattle's Pike Place Market, famous for its team of mongers tossing customers' selections from the ice-packed displays at the front to the scales in the back. The shop was founded in 1930 and purchased in 1965 by John Yokoyama (b. 1940), an employee, who then sold the shop to other employees in 2018 upon his retirement.

In this image an unidentified employee assists customers at the Pike Place Fish Market. After nearing bankruptcy in 1986, Mr. Yokoyama and employees decided to become "world famous," changing their way of doing business by utilizing flying fish, games, and performances to entertain customers and bystanders. The store is now a popular tourist destination in Seattle, attracting up to 10,000 daily visitors.
