Order an ImageIn 1977, Seattle held its first Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras) celebration in Occidental Park, Pioneer Square. The event lasted for five days. Don Hinerman (left), Larry Boday (center), and Lee Stackhouse (right), were just three of people with painted faces and costumes who gathered for the parade. The event was peaceful during the day but got very unruly at night.
