Seven millionth visitor to the Seattle World’s Fair, Seattle, September 1, 1962
Order an ImageIn September 1962, Rod Dewar, an industrial arts teacher from the Highline School District, was stopped as he passed through the gate to the Seattle’s World’s Fair (Century 21). He was congratulated on being the seven millionth visitor to the Fair, and presented with gifts.
Here, Rod Dewar celebrates being named Visitor 7,000,000. He is accompanied by Senator Hubert Humphrey of Minnesota (left), Washington Governor Albert Rosellini (second from right), and Tennessee Senator Estes Kefauver of Tennessee (right). It was Tennessee Day at the Fair.
