In this image Mike Powers waves farewell as he and his co-workers, Patty Powers (also his wife) and Ellen Wilson, leave after their last shift at the Cudahy Packing Company plant on Airport Way South. The Cudahy packing business employees were being replaced with non-union workers at lower rates of pay after the company was sold to management and renamed Bar-S Foods.
