Begun as the Seattle Timberliners around 1947, the Seattle Tip Toppers' Club, a non-profit social organization for tall persons, has been part of Tall Clubs International (TCI) since 1954. Minimum height requirements for membership in the club are 5’10” for women and 6’2” for men.

In this image Art Thomas, Post-Intelligencer copy boy, poses with the newly elected officers of the Tip Toppers club. Individuals are identified from left as, Barbara Lercher, secretary, Jean MacDonald, treasurer, Virginia King, president, Art Thomas, and Al Bergman, vice president.
