In this image "Flex," at front, tosses a cue ball in the air while his friends look on, from left, Carlos Barrientes, Tracy Roybal, Fernando Sanchez, "Torito" Rodriguez, and Steve Sanchez. The young men are all members of the "CIA," or Chicanos in Aztlan, an ethnic youth group created in the early 1980s to preserve Mexican heritage and display ethnic pride.
