Elaine Day LaTourelle (b. 1938) is an architect and women's rights activist based in Seattle. She received her Bachelors degree in Architecture from the University of Washington (UW) in 1961, and her Master's from Yale University. LaTourelle practiced architecture with her husband as LaTourelle Associates from 1968-1980, and later as Elaine Day LaTourelle and Associates Architecture & Design. She taught in the Architecture Department at the UW from 1975-2007 and currently holds the title of Professor Emeritus.

Elaine LaTourelle was active in the National Organization for Women (NOW) from the late 1960s through the 1970s, helping organize the Seattle chapter, and serving in several leadership capacities, including a term as president in 1972. LaTourelle was also active in the national organization, serving as the National Legislative Vice President for two years. LaTourelle helped organize and lead a variety of efforts around issues at the city, county and state level, including divorce reform, child care, justice for women offenders, sexism and racism in school textbooks, violence against women, the scarcity of women political candidates, and fair housing and employment.

This photo shows Elaine LaTourelle speaking at a community anti-war forum held at Seattle Center. LaTourelle, representing NOW, was one of several speakers at the forum. The forum was the result of unsuccessful attempts to force the City Council to open its official meetings for use as an antiwar forum. Council members were instrumental in arranging the "citizen's meeting," and several spoke at the event.
