Randy Johnson (b. 1963) is a retired professional baseball player who pitched for the Seattle Mariners from 1989 to 1998. Standing 6’10", he was the tallest player in Major League Baseball and was nicknamed “the Big Unit.” Johnson’s fastball was known to exceed 100 mph. In 22 seasons, Johnson won the Cy Young Award five times, was named to ten All-Star teams, led his league in strikeouts nine times, and pitched two no-hitters, including a perfect game in 2004. Randy Johnson retired after the 2009 season and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2015.
