Order an ImageThe Seattle Thunderbirds are a junior ice hockey team in the Western Hockey League, playing in the Seattle region since 1977. The team was called the Seattle Breakers through the 1984-85 season, when the team was bought by new owners and renamed the Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds’ home arena is the ShoWare Center in Kent, and they were champions of the Western Hockey League in the 2016-17 and 2022-23 seasons.
This photograph shows several Thunderbirds players lining up to high five their teammates during a game against the Tacoma Rockets. Team captain Brendan Witt (with C on jersey) is at the front of the line. The photo was taken after the Thunderbirds scored their sixth goal of the game, which they eventually won 7-5.
