Over the years, people with disabilities have found it difficult to access the range of help they need to live independently. The intersection of disability with sexuality and family planning was particularly challenging, as such needs of people with disabilities were often ignored. Seattle’s Family Planning and Disability Project tried to remedy this by reaching out directly to medical professionals, counseling and referral services, parents, and people with disabilities.
