Ann (Fabrikant) Dulien Diamond (1909-1984) was born in Poland and immigrated to New York City with her family in 1911. There she met her first husband, Louis Theodore Dulien (1895-1979), with whom she moved to Seattle about 1935. The couple were benefactors to the Seattle Art Museum and the Seattle Boys Clubs. Ann was active in other local civic organizations such as the National Council of Jewish Women and the Foundation for the Preservation of the Governor's Mansion, a project to refurbish the public rooms of the mansion. Ann and Louis raised their two children, Merle Jean Dulien (b. 1935) and Frederick Michael Dulien (b. 1937), in Seattle. After Louis' death, Ann married Seattle businessman, Josef "Joe" Diamond (1907-2007), attorney and parking-lot magnate.
In this image Ann Dulien poses wearing her Easter hat, a cream colored, wide-brimmed hat. The hat is woven out of Milan straw and trimmed with black chiffon and lace. The hat is now in the collection of the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI).
