Order an ImageIn this image, Jewish demonstrators carry signs written in English and Hebrew at the South African consulate in Madison Park. The group picketed the consulate on Christmas day to allow the Christian groups who regularly held demonstrations there to stay home to celebrate Christmas. The anti-Apartheid protesters demanded the release of all political prisoners, the shutting down of the consulate in Seattle, and the end of U. S. support for the South African government.
