Cell Therapeutics, Inc. (CTI) incorporated in September 1991 as part of Seattle's biotech boom. Using the motto "Making Cancer More Treatable," James A. Bianco, Jack Singer, and George Todaro, who met working at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Institute, spearheaded the company's work to improve cancer treatment drugs. With headquarters next to the Olympic Sculpture Park on the Seattle waterfront, the company rebranded as CTI BioPharma in 2014.
