Painter and muralist Kenneth Callahan (1905-1986) was one of the defining artists of the "Northwest School," an art movement which combined natural elements of the Puget Sound area with traditional Asian aesthetics to create a novel and distinct regional style.

Here, they talk with administrative assistant and long-time museum employee Dorothy Malone (left). Callahan had worked at the Seattle Art Museum as a curator from 1933 to 1952.
