Founded in 1986 by Dr. Loren Pickart, ProCyte Corporation was a biotech medical skin company, which sold skincare products directly to dermatologists, include Iamin gel for wound dressing. Based in Kirkland, the company was acquired by Philadelphia-based PhotoMedex in 2005.
Joseph Ashley, who had been president of the early Seattle biotech company Genetic Systems, served as President and CEO of ProCyte from the mid 1980s until 1996, and Chairman of the Board in the 1990s. Here he is shown in the ProCyte lab in 1990.
