Painter Guy Anderson (1906-1998) was one of the defining artists of the "Northwest School," an art movement which combined natural elements of the Puget Sound area with traditional Asian aesthetics to create a novel and distinct regional style that was different from traditional Northwest Native American art forms, which had been long recognized as "northwest art."
Seattle's Otto Seligman Gallery mounted a solo show of Anderson's work in the spring of 1965. Here, at the preview, the artist and Mrs. Ray Collins admire his oil collage "Deserted Island at Moonrise."
